Pineapple Express [[Short Review for the Stoners]]

Ok so I finally went to go see Pineapple Express. I’m not really into watching weed movies high so my review is coming from complete sober thoughts. I just have a couple random thoughts I’d like to share.

1) The first hour of the movie was hilarious. Rogen’s pothead tendencies seemed like they were based on reality, but I’ve never quite met anybody quite like Saul, played by James Franco. It was a whole lot of getting high at the beginning but that started to wear down as they got deeper into the plot. The jokes really fell of after they stopped smoking. Rogen’s character Dale, even has a epiphany about how smoking weed clouds their judgement.

2) I absolutely loved the underground layer of bud…It was everywhere, but of course the big bad Asians proceeded to burn it all up. It was really violent at the end which was kind of a blower because I went to see it with my girlfriend. If you smoke bud though, you’ll pretty much relate to the entire movie. I really believed these guys were stoners.

3) I do think Pinapple Express will win the Best Fight award this year for the fist fight between Dale, Saul, and Red, played by Danny McBride. These guys definitely have talent and are probably going to have some great movies in the future. My favorite part of the movie was after Saul and Dale needed to make some money, so they decide to sell weed to some local school kids. McLovin got a sweet cameo and all the kids got stoned in the back of the school. All in all I was a little disappointed with the plot, but I’ll still give the movie a 3 out of 5.
